County Galway is situated in the West of Ireland and is one of Ireland's largest counties it is located on Ireland's Atlantic west coast. It is one of Ireland's most diverse counties containing the largest Gaeltacht (Irish speaking area) in the country a vibrant city and some of Ireland's most beautiful mountains. Galway is a medieval city that is rich in culture. It is also a university city which is partly responsible for its vibrancy and love for the arts. Galway Airport is located just outside of Galway city, with limited services to Ireland and Britain. Galway is about an hours' drive from Shannon Airport Ireland's second international airport. Galway is served by the Dublin-Galway railway line, with regular services to the capital. Bus services also exist to Dublin, Cork, Limerick, and elsewhere. County Galway is a great base for learning English and exploring Ireland and its culture.
